

The direction of an objective is often tricky to determine, with waypoints pointing to eventual destinations, as opposed to immediate doorways or passages that would more neatly show the way. There are many problems with Killzone: Shadow Fall's campaign, and general navigation is one of them.

Those stunning vistas turn to generic industrial corridors in the campaign's latter parts, and the initially intriguing premise of a world split into two warring factions is represented by lacklustre dialogue and padded-out mission design. Unfortunately, this warm, fuzzy feeling fades away the further you play the campaign. It looks gorgeous, with jaw-dropping vistas of imposing futuristic cities complete with blinding lights and grungy details, and superb facial animation that really gives the feeling that you're really being ushered into a new generation. Killzone: Shadow Fall gives a very good first impression.
